Mercedes-Benz 040 Paint Code
Each Mercedes-Benz vehicle is stamped with key details relating to its manufacture. One of these details is the colour.
Your paint code can be found on a sticker either in the driver side door jamb, or on the radiator crossover bar (older codes will prefix with DB). It’s usually three digits long.
Black
The Mercedes-Benz 040 paint code is one of the most popular colors. It’s a sharp look that requires very little maintenance. The color hides swirl marks very well and is a good choice for those who do not want to spend a lot of time maintaining their car’s exterior.
To find your paint code, check the Mercedes-Benz identificaiton sticker on your vehicle. It will contain twenty sets of three digits and may have the prefix DB. It can be located in the driver side door jamb, the radiator crossover or support bar, or on the engine compartment adhesive to the underside of the hood.
Silver
Mercedes-Benz silver is a nice color that is less maintenance intensive than black. It is also a good alternative to steel gray metallic.
